My Ghost Stories

People are very divided on ghosts, the super natural and the occult. Be it due to religion or how you were raised or just 'can't be proved by science' mind set. I personally have seen too much to say I don't think ghosts are real.

I saw ghosts or at least creepy things when I was little and again as a teenager. But not in my adult life, I;ve always gotten 'vibes' and hate certain places or people just on a vibe they give off of them. I've had two little creepy possibly ghost related issues recently.

Over a friends house and one of his guitars just makes a noise all on it's own. I didn't think much of it but next time I was sleeping and they were in the shower and I felt a definite 'pat' on my shoulder with some force. They even heard me yelp in my sleep.

I don't know.. but apparently odd things only happen when I'm over. Maybe I have a spirit attached to me? I don't mind too much, they seem harmless and I don't feel put out by them or anything.

Also we found this creepy as canvas picture in their garden.. I hate kids, I better not be haunted by a kid... ugh.

I guess while we are on the subject I can tell you more about my past ones too. I love to read about peoples ghostly experiences so maybe other people do and hey it's something a little different on the blog.

When I was very young me, mum and step father lived in this old ass house in the middle of nowhere. Think real cliche horror movie set up. Big Victorian house with fields and fields around it. I lived next to a farm so there was my house, one just down the road and one up a huge hill that was a manner which belonged to the farmer. Man do I sound like a bumpkin or what?

The house was from the Victorian era, suffered cold all the time, sturdy building, creaky floorboards, fireplaces in every room. Huge with three bedrooms and a massive attic. One of those biiiig ones with huge wooden beams and issues with rats and wildlife.
Anyone some examples of possible ghost going ons was foot steps late at night in the attic but could be the house settling and all that sort of thing. My step father said sometimes he saw a women down the bottom of the garden, there was footsteps in the living room. I used to see someone looking into my room every so often, like a shadow cast on the floor which wasn't my parents, I always asked.

One night though we all went out for dinner and when we came back the window to the attic was wide open. The windows including that one were all new modern ones to make the place warmer and none of us went into the attic.. so creepy shit man.

Another time when I was a teenager, out in the country again when I was seeing my Grandmother in the village over. We used to all walk down the empty county lanes and stuff. Me and a guy friend went for a walk one day. Was summer, nice and bright, warm, all that. Nothing creepy in the air no bad vibes.

We went down one lane and it started to have high hedges that looked all styled. Looked like we were going around the hedge maze in Alice In Wonderland we went deeper and it turned into a dark very tree covered lane. Again nothing felt off, or creepy we walked along and saw a small old bridge that had a little stream.

Went down the slope and sat down by the stream just chatting about shit and enjoying the warm weather. The place looked so untouched and pretty. We sat there in silence for ages just looking at the water, we saw someones reflection and thought there was someone with us, we both looked up and no one was there.

We thought that was odd... to see a definite reflection standing on the bank the other side but no one there. We then sat a little puzzled and heard giggling, little kids gigging, we looked around seeing if it wasn't someone walking on the road we'd walked on above, no one. My friend claimed to have saw a child running under the bridge but I never saw it. Only the reflection and heard the giggles.

Was strange and abit 'wow was that a ghost' but wasn't scary. The place had railway tracks from way back when the village had a track so many years ago like before the wars. My Grandmother said a kid was hit by a train down there once upon a time.

So maybe...

Anyway that's my little stories, I hope you enjoyed them.

Ghost Trains

I went for a trip and there was a ghost train. I'm a massive child and still love fair rides and still want to go on the creaky crappy little ghost trains they provide. Me and a friend hit up this one at the weekend and it wasn't great but I am a jumpy mother fucker and it got me a fair few times.

My man Frank.

In normal people terms a token is £1 so it's £3 which is a massive ripoff unless you have the unlimited ride band which cost £10 which is then pretty good.. I'd have gone on this again but the line was massive.

Oddly comfy...

It took around five minutes I think and wasn't altogether a shit experience..

Though at the start some asshole sneezes and or coughs water at you and it kinda smells... yep.

Watch us being morons here..

Horrors for 2014 - Part One

Bit slow on this I know but why not. Bored and feeling the crushing pressure to update my blog once a week. [I'm so cool] I decided to have a look at what joys 2014 holds...

The Purge: Anarchy

I never saw the first one but the concept was interesting to me but as a friend pointed out. Why does the movie have to focus on the people who can't wait to kill another fellow human being? allot of people would take to riots and stealing and hit a bank asap as opposed to going nuts on another person. I mean when London had all that trouble people were mostly just stealing.. Maybe America is just different.

Looking forward to this movie? 1/5

Devils Due

I dislike home footage/found footage movies, well most anyway and that's what this one is. Name sounds cheesy as fuck and it looks very... meh. Jump scares ahoy I think and not much else. It's like a pre The Omen or something...

Looking forward to this movie? 1/5

-----------------

Oculus

Haunted mirror by the seems of things, another ghost story from the makers of Paranormal craptivity. It looks like another jump scare fest but with some sort of plot. Mirrors hold so many legends about taking souls, being a window into souls and what not so I do enjoy the creepiness that surrounds them.

Looking forward to seeing this: 2.3/5

-----------------

Zombeavers

Your not clever or funny.

NOPE

-----------------------------

Paranormal Activity: The marked ones

Never a massive fan but I can see they are creepy and they do make me jump but this seems to be a shitty turn for the movies. It seems all typical possession and going for some gory bits and some hella cliche bits... not impressed.

Looking forward to seeing this?: 0/5

CUBE - Big ol box of doooom

Ok sorry it's been so long since I got my ass in gear and did anything but I have been dealing with alot of personal issues and also parent to a new baby heggie so been looking after her. FYI she's called DEXTER [holla to ma boy Michael C. Hall]

Anyway CUBE has been kicking around since 1997 and has a prequel and a sequel. It's one of my fav movies in the horror genre, it's so simple but complex at the same time and does gore and mind fucking in a beautiful combination that doesn't make it cheesy, boring or over the top.

[1997]

The plot is basically this. Some unlucky assholes wake up in a giant killer Rubik cube. Every room is a different colour and I really think that this was the best and most cheap set to ever make. Just have two rooms side by side and change their colour from time to time. I bet that was a god send and also the costume design department must have been laughing.

With it just being a group of people moving from room to room it doesn't sound that great of a movie does it? you'd be wrong. As too many zombie related things do [I love you Walking Dead but I'm looking right at you with stink eye] one of the biggest issues of being locked in funky death trap box is the assholes you are stuck there with.

Characters are well rounded but being late 90's you can't help but get the vibe of 'token black guy' I think all three CUBE movies has angry hairless black guy. Not that they are type casting in the slightest right? anyway the group is well rounded and I didn't hate anyone.

They all wake up and freak out about where they are and what's going on. All your typical WHO DONE THIS? and turning on each other for answers but give it credit, one of the first horrorish movies to fit into that formula. Yes I do have my cock in CUBES ass but that doesn't mean I can't see it's flaws.

It's stupidly elaborate for what it is and makes no real sense why the government would go to such huge troubles to make a giant future like cube of death to sentence people. But hey it's fun or something?

Anyway...

Dealing with one another and accusations flying around like crazy they have to move around this huge cube of complex numbers, codes and traps. Think if Hell raiser cube had babies with SAW. That kind of smash together of ideas. They have to figure out what rooms are trapped and which ones aren't.

The traps range from acid in the face, cheese wire attacks, spies from walls.. all very much boobie trapped tomb vibe I spose but the tension and pacing is great. I loved the whole feel of the movie. Not once did it drag and for a movie that couldn't go anywhere really the character development is neat.

So trapped rooms that kill, maim and murder, some seriusly unhinged people and then throw someone who is very mentally handicapped into the mix. TA DA you have the cube.

It doesn't feel like it's from 1997 it feels like it's older but in a good way, feels dirty and gritty and a good watch if your more into your psychology thriller type horrors with a dash of face melty gore.

Gore: 3/5
Plot: 3/5
Acting: 4/5
Pacing: 4/5
Scares: 3/5
Overall enjoyment: 4/5
